I see art education as a form of shaping of the mind. Simultaneous teaching and learning between learner and educator. I think art is a language of thought that everyone should have access to, regardless of the place. I am a teacher who encourages self -expression, empowerment, self-confidence and trust. My approach and facility to relate to others, my ability to understand other people’s perspectives is something unique about my teaching.
I see teaching as a growing experience and within my own practice. I want to be able to help others express themselves through their art and explore that side of them. I think that by sharing my passion, encouraging others to think in new ways, opening individuals to new forms of self-expression and allowing a space for learners to create art works of their own is what I enjoy most about teaching.
IF YOU HAD A THIRD EYE, WHAT WOULD IT LOOK LIKE? AN INTRODUCTION TO TEXTILE PAINTING.
This lesson focuses on using inner feelings, intuition and imagination while using information learned about the pineal gland to create textile paintings of their third eye. The lesson helps learners become more in touch with themselves.
In this activity, participants learn to use their intuition and "go with the flow" to create a painting while using a variety of non traditional mediums such as recycled materials. Learners will create a work of art that is emphasized on using their feelings, thoughts and instinct as a tool of direction towards their final works. In addiction, they will learn about warm and cold colours, complementary colours as well as other important information about colour.
